My uncle is the strangest man I know
When you first see him, it doesn't show
But watch him awhile, you'll know what I mean.
You be the judge - I'll tell you what I've seen.

9. Ch
Every day he'll spend each morning
Hours together folding and unfolding
A piece of paper with too many words,
Scaring away squirrels and birds.
He seems to forget about the world
Sitting in his armchair, with this monster unfurled.
It's black and white, no colours to be seen,
Nothing like my dad's magical mobile screen.
Then finally when the morning's nearing noon
He'll get up and go to his room.
There another device
Takes up his life!
It's a little black box,
With numbers like a clock's.
He jiggles a knob or two
And suddenly out of the blue
Weird sounds start streaming
Like a trapped toad that is screaming.
Name:
10. A)
Wrestling with it for very long
He finally gets it to sing a song.
Now he'll go about getting ready
Never rushing along, just slow and steady.
The black box keeps playing song after song-
Some go on for so long!
They have no drums or guitars or music
sometimes,
Just strange voices, in strange tongues
singing without rhymes.
I watch him do this daily
But one day maybe, just maybe,
He'll pick up a smartphone
And see how the world's changed and grown.
