If two squares form a rectangle and we know area both square .  Suppose Both are is 24 cm square if we add both the area the sum is 24 + 24 = 48 . But actual area is -

breadth  = 2 cm

length = 2 + 2 cm

             = 4cm

height = 2 cm

area of rectangle = 2 X (4 + 8 +8 )

                             = 40 cm square
