Myopia and Hypermetropia

Explanation:

1) Sunitha is suffering from Myopia. Nearsightedness or Myopia  is the defect in the eye where it loses its ability to focus on far-off objects as the lenses do not possess a long focal length. The common symptoms include squinting, frowning and severe headaches by overstraining.

2) Srilatha is suffering from Hypermetropia. Hypermetropia or far-sightedness is the defect in the eyes where the image of a nearby object is formed behind the retina. Here, the light is focused behind the retina instead of focusing on the retina. Accommodation is the process used to treat hypermetropia without any defects in vision in the early stages.

3) Sunitha could use diverging or concave lens to fix her problem of myopia. As the image formed was blurry as the light rays were not diverging at the right point and creating a focused image. But by using a diverging lens the rays get focused before it reaches the retina. The convergence of the light rays takes place due to the cornea producing an image on the retina.

4) Srilatha could use converging or convex lens to fix her problem of hypermetropia.
