Hello there,:-)

Here's the answer:-

Length of pole = 8 m 40 cm = 840 cm.

Length of shadow is 4 m 60 cm = 460 cm

As the pole forms right angle with the ground, the structure is something like a right angle triangle.

So,

Hypotenuse = root of 840 cm^2 - 460 cm^2

[Putting the formula for a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)(a-b)]

= root of (840+460)(840-460)

= root of 1300 x 180

= 483.73 approx = 484 approx.

So,

(I) Given,

Length of pole = 12 m 25 cm = 1225 cm

[ I apologise some problem has occurred ]

I hope it helped somehow upto this much. Sorry :'(
