Same goes for four of her teammates: Erin Counts, Megan Tuck, Isabelle Wyss and Karlee Southerland.
But for now, losing is a foreign feeling. The five girls were part of the St. Paul High School basketball team that won a state championship in the 1A division last weekend, finishing with a perfect 30-0 record.
What's amazing is that the St. Paul volleyball team -- with those same five girls as key players -- won the state 1A title in the fall, also finishing a perfect 30-0.
“This group of girls that I’ve been with in both sports have been working so hard to get to where we are and it really paid off,” said Connor a senor guard on the basketball team.

it's a remarkable achievement, but sports excellence has become a tradition at St. Paul, the town of 449 set among the farm fields of northern Marion Country
St. Paul is best known for hosting the nationally renowned St. Paul Rodeo, but the high school has consistently churned out sports winners. The football team also made it to the state championship final in the fall before falling to Dufur.
Great expectations
Success in basketball was nothing new to this group of players as last season they finished third at the OSAA Class 2A state tournament. The Buckaroos moved back down to Class 1A at the beginning of the season due to the smaller school size and traditional rivalries in the Casco League.
