Hello everybody, I have trouble making Ag/AgCl reference electrodes.

Here is what I did so far:

- Cleaned the Ag wire in nitric acid

- Anodized the Ag wire in 1M HCl at 250 mV vs SCE for 3h

- Placed the (now greyish) wire in sat. KCl and measured OCP vs SCE for 24h

In the beginning the potential is around the expected -40 mV. BUT, after about 10h the potential drops to values below -70 mV. Something similar has happened, when the wires are stored in sat. KCl. In both cases the greyish color has vanished.
