When iron nails are dipped in copper sulfate solution , iron nails get the coating of brown colored substance which is copper. This happens due to displacement reaction. As Fe(iron) is more reactive than copper so the iron displaces the copper from its salt solution (CuSO4) and thereby making FeSO4(ion sulphate)
Reaction:
Fe(iron nail) + CuSO4(copper Sulphate) --> FeSO4(iron sulphate) + Cu(copper)
