Listeria is a bacteria and is found in soil, water and plants. Animals like cattle, goat and dogs can carry this bacteria. If humans ingest this bacteria through milk, it results in nausea, flu, etc.

So, this bacteria, if present, can be removed if milk is heated at any temperature above 65 degree Celsius.

To eliminate other organisms,higher temperatures or other special treatments are required.
