A stone is thrown in a vertically
upward direction with a velocity
of 5 ms. If the acceleration of the
stone during its motion is 10 ms?
in the downward direction, what
will be the height attained by the
stone and how much time will it
take to reach there?

Here , u=5m/s

v=0m/s

a=-10m/s

t=?

h or s(distance) = ?

For finding out time , we will use 1st equation of motion:

v=u+at

0=5+(-10)×t

0=5+(-10)t

0-5=-10t

-5=-10t

-5/-10=t

1/2=t

0.5=t

or t=0.5 s

For finding out height or distance , we will use third equation of motion:

v2-u2=2as

0×0-5×5=2×(-10)×s

0-25=-20×s

-25=-20×s

-25=s

-20

1.25=s

or s= 1.25 m

HOPE IT HELPS YOU.
