the Stars are very far from the Earth and the planets are near than stars so the planets are near to the Earth they do not appear Twinkle the stars are very far from the Earth so it appears to be Twinkle

- The atmoshpere consists of a number of parallel layers of air of varying densities .
- The most dense layer is near the surface of earth,and least dense later is the top most layer.
- When the rays of light coming from this star pass through atmosphere of varying densities they bend towards the normal.
- Finally when the refracted rays of light reach the eye, the eye tracee straight line path.
- Due to this functions of refractive index of layers,stars appear twinkiling.
