a = v/t

72 km/hr = 72 × 5/18 = 20 m/sec

Remember,

a =  \frac{v - u}{t}

Remember this formula.

and 72 km/h = 20m/s

Since, object start from rest the initial velocity is 0 m/s.

Now put the values in the formula.

a =  \frac{20 - 0}{10}  \\ a =  \frac{20}{10}  \\ a = 2 \: m {s}^{ - 2}

Clearly the acceleration comes as 2 m/s sq.
