Starting from rest at the top of an inclined plane a body reaches the
bottom of the inclined plane in 4 second. In what time does the body
cover one-fourth the distance starting from rest at the top?​

The initial velocity (u)  =  0

The time of sliding L  distance is 4s,

So,

L = 0 × 4 + 1 2 × a × 4 2

L =  8 a  (Mark this as equation 1)

Let the time of sliding of L/4  length from the top when starting from rest be t s,

So,

L 4 = 0 × t + 1 2 a t 2

L 4  =  1/2at 2  (Mark this as equation 2)

Comparing [1] and[2]

8 a 4  = 1 2 a t 2

=t  2 = 4

 t = 2

Therefore, Time= 2s
