HERE IS YOUR ANSWER

Refractive index of medium 1 with respect to medium 2 is velocity of light in medium 2 divided by velocity of light in medium 1. The phenomenon of change of velocity of light at the interface between two media is called refraction. n12(read as n of 1 w.r.t.2)=v2/v1=(f.

Given that,

State ¹n₂ in terms of velocity

We need to find the refractive index state ¹n₂ in terms of velocity

We know that,

Refractive index of medium 1 with respect to medium 2 :

Refractive index is equal to the speed of light in medium 2 divided by speed of light in medium 1.

In mathematically,

\mu=\dfrac{v_{2}}{v_{1}}

Where, v₁ = speed of light in medium 1

v₂ = speed of light in medium 2

Hence,  Refractive index ¹n₂ in terms of velocity is \dfrac{v_{2}}{v_{1}}
