Answer:

(a) It is because it reacts with acids as well as bases to produce salts and water. 'Al' is less electropositive metal. So, it forms amphoteric oxide which can react with acid as well as base. (b) Ionic compounds can conduct electricity in molten state because ions ' become free to move in molten state.

Answer:

1.sulphur is a non metal because- a. its is a poor conductor od heat and electricity..b. it has very high electronegativity..

2. a. alluminium oxide can react with boths acids and bases...b. The oxide ions are held too strongly in the solid lattice to react with the water.

3. a. when ionic compounds are in motlen(liquid)

or gaseous state, their ions are free to move.

b. when they are in solid state, their ioms are held very strongly with each other and do not move.

hope this answer helps u.
