hey  dude

Canal rays or anode rays were discovered by E Goldstein. These are seen moving from the anode to cathode in a specially designed discharge tube, when a high voltage is applied across the electrodes. These rays are consists of positively charged particles known as protons. The nature of canal rays depends upon the nature of gas enclosed in discharge tube. They have a charge equal in magnitude but opposite in sign to that of electron. Their mass is about 1840 times to that of electron.

hope it helps dude

There are three characteristics of canal rays :-

i) They are travel in straight line.

ii) These rays can be penetrate through

small thickness of the matter.

iii) The velocity of canal rays is much

smaller than the velocity of cathode

ray.

I HOPE IT WILL HELP YOU LOT.
