A mixture is nothing but a mix of many different kinds of matter.
Air is said to be a mixture because many different gasses combine in it. Like oxygen, hydrogen and so on.
A compound is noting but 2 element combined together in a correct proportion. Water is compound made out of hydrogen and oxygen that is 1:8
