State and Derive Newton’s second law of motion. A car of mass 2400 kg moving with a velocity of 20 m s-1 is stopped in 10 seconds on applying brakes. Calculate the retardation and the retarding force.​

Retarding Force : F = m×a

a = v/t

so F = 2400×20/10

F = 4800N

Retarding acceleration a = v-u/t

a = 0-20/10

a = - 2 ms^-2
