State and describe the features of social stratification.

The features of social stratification :

1. Social Stratification involves a division of society which is into several layers that stand hierarchically placed in social relations. When some positions or levels which carry more rewards, more privileges, more respect, and these are considered to be higher levels and others enjoy lower positions and status.

2. Stratification leads which are the emergency of several levels in society. The persons who are belonging to higher levels are conscious of their higher positions and they are trying to maintain and improve these.  

3.  Every social position and status that is associated with a particular prestige. whenever this difference has logical, which is not to be based on evil practices like casteism, religious superstitions, and rituals.

4. Stratification which is leads to a very stable, enduring hierarchical and quite permanent division in society. The division between the two classes of rich and poor that has been continuously present in every society In India, the caste-based social stratification which has been so strong that it even continues to survive today.
