State and explain Afbau's principle using titanium (Z=22) as an example

Afbau principle state that electron will enter that orbital first whose energy is lower than others.it is based on the n + l value of orbital so it is also referred to as the n + l rule,electron with enter that are orbital first whose n+l value is lower than the other.if n + l rule of two orbitals are same then electron will enter that orbital whose value of n is lower than the other.

Z=1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s2 3d2

As we can se its in d orbital its p.n. is 4 and g.n. is 4.

n=3 l=2 n+l=5.
