The result of a scalar product of two vectors is a scalar quantity. Note that if θ = 90°, then cos(θ) = 0 and therefore we can state that: Two vectors, with magnitudes not equal to zero, are perpendicular if and only if their scalar product is equal to zero.

it is also known as dot product. to get it we need simply to multiply the vector's coordinate coefficients with each other (keep it in mind that the coefficient of same coordinate can be only multiplied) and after multiplication they are added to get the answer.
