For example if you apply a force of 1 Newton on to one side of a large concrete cube kept on road, the cube will not moving due to the friction between the surface of it and the road . Now apply 5 Newtons of force, still the cube would not. You keep on increasing the load. Even when you have reached 20 Newtons the cube wouldn't move. Suppose, if the applying force reaches 21 Newtons of force, it moves! That means the force of 20 Newtons is the limiting friction.

By definition: Limiting friction is the maximum frictional force at which a body remains at rest. Here, the body is at rest until 20 Newtons. Hence 20 Newtons is the limiting friction.

Heya Mate!!

Here is your answer!!

Answer!!

Laws of Limiting friction are:-

1).The force of limiting friction depend upon the nature of surface in contact and tangentially to the interface between the two surface.

2).The direction of limiting friction or force is always opposite to the direction of tendency of motion or motion.

3).Limiting friction doesn't depend on the area in contact.

4).The limiting friction is directly proportional to the normal reaction.
