Newton's second law of motion states that the force applied to the system is equal to the time rate of change of momentum.....

Newton's second law of motion can be formally stated as follows: The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object......

Explanation:

Newton's second laws of motion state that the rate of change of momentum of an object is proportional to the applied unbalanced force in the direction of motion

prove are :-

suppose and object of mass ,m is moving along a straight line with initial velocity,u in time,t by application of a constant force,f throughout the time,t.the initial and final momentum of object will be p1 =mu and p2 =mv

the change of momentum directly proportional p2 - p1

mv-mu

m ×{v-u }

the rate of change of momentum I'd directly proportional to m(v-u) /t

or applied force ,

F is directly proportional to m(v-u) /t

F=km×(v-u)/t

F=kma

let k =1 we get

F =ma

( note :- in the place of directly proportional use the sign of it)
