Universal law of gravitation states that every oject in the universe attracts every other object with a force which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and and inversely proportional to the square of distance between them

Explanation:

Let m and M be the masses of the two object and d be the distan between them

F is proportional to mM

F is proportional to d^2

By combining these two equations we get

F is proportional to mM/d^2

Replacing proportionaly sign by equality sign

F = G mM/d^2

where G is the universal Gravitational constant
