1)The distribution of rainfall is not uniform . it causes rainfall in most of the country except in Tamil Nadu.
2)Erratic in nature . It is evident from the fact that some parts of the country may be facing fury of floods due to heavy rains while the other may under severe drought .

monsoon rainfall in india is unevenly distributied in the country. meghalya more than 200 CM of rainfall western part of Rajasthan and Punjab only 50 to 80 CM of rainfall annually....
Rainy season in June to mid September..
south west monsoon season is also known as hot wet season.....
