I am only writing the main functions...
1. Pituitary Gland
- Master Gland (regulates the secretion of the other endocrine glands)
2. Pineal Gland
- It controls the sleep cycle
(a.k.a Circhadian Rythm)
3. Thymus
- Produces Thymosine that helps in stimulation and development of immune system until puberty.
4. Thyroid
- Releases Thyroxine, Calcitocin and Tridothyrodine. Its main function is to regulate the rate of metabolism in the body.
5. Testes
- Produce testosterone which is the male sex hormone, along with sperms.
5. Ovaries
- Produce oestrogen and progesterone which are the female sex hormones, along with eggs (ovum).
6. Pancreas
- Produces Insulin and Glucagon which work antagonistically to maintain blood sugar levels in the body.
7. Parathyroid
- Produce Parathyroxine which works along with the Calcitocin secreted by the Thyroid,
to control amounts of calcium in the body.
8. Adrenal
- Produce Adrenaline/ Epinephrine that controls the fight-or-flight syndrome in case of emergencies or emotional stress. Another hormone released is Cortisol that regulates metabolism and stress response.
One extra... just for extra knowledge
9. Hypothalamus
- Regulate pituitary hormone secretion and also maintain homeostatis (body temperature).
Hope this helps... ✌
