Types of blood cell :-

  1. Red blood cell (RBC)
  2. White blood cell (WBC)
  3. Platelets
  4. Plasma*

(*Note :- In Plasma all types of cells are found.)

Red blood cell (RBCs)

  • RBC Carries oxygen from lungs to other part of cell and also in returning they carries Carbon dioxide.

  • They have no Nucleus and contain Hemoglobin.

  • The life span of RBC is 100 to 120 days.

White blood cell (WBC)

  • They fight against infection and protects us from disease.

  • They make antibodies against infection and provide immunity to our body.

  • They are little larger than RBC.

  • Main function is clotting of blood means during injuries they help the cells to recover fast and stop the continuous flow of blood from it.

Plasma :-

  • Plasma is a liquid also known as the fluid matrix and consists of three types of cells that keep floating in it namely red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.

  • It is a colourless liquid that contains 90% water, protein, and inorganic salts.
