acid are not soluble in water but alkali is soluble in water . acid s give H+ions but alkali give OH-ions.

acid s are harmful to touch it but alkali are harmless to touch it.

some acid are nitric acid, sulphuric acid etc... some alkali are Mg(Oh)2, sodium hydroxide etc...
