Out of the many rules that were there in the 1744 Laws of Cricket, four provisions can be described as
(1) There must be a toss by a coin to select the batting or fielding side accordingly and the length of a cricket pitch should be 22 yards.
(2) The stumps must be of 22 inches in height along with a six-inch bail that is to be kept at the top of them.
(3) The weight of a cricket ball should be between five and six ounces.
(4) An over will consist of four balls.
