Secularism in India implies equal practice of all faiths by the state. With the 42nd Clause of the Constitution of India constituted in 1976, the Preamble to the Constitution declared that India is a secular country. However, neither India's constitution nor its rules determine the association between religion and state. India is declared as a secular nation because there is no differentiation of spirituality by the administration or the Constitution. According to it, the administration cannot provide extraordinary rights to any religion.
