THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Spring tides with high waves in Kerala coast from Thursday morning till Friday can cause tidal flooding and severe coastal erosion, warn scientists at Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA). Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has also warned of high swell waves and spring tides leading to a tidal surge. While, after a brief lull, Southwest Monsoon is expected to gear up with heavy rains in parts of Kerala for two to three days from Saturday with strong winds for the next 24 hours, forecasts Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
