The following are the three favorable conditions for Artesian well's digging:

i. Acquifer should lie between two layers of rock to retain water. It is like a sandwich of Acquifer that is hold between two rocks. This system helps to prevent evaporation of water from well and also prevent percolation.

ii. Ends of the Acquifer should be exposed form one end or both end in a region of water source. It helps water for percolation. For example- rainy area

iii. Mouth of the well should be at lower level than intake area and it will help to develop hydraulic pressure and help in forcing water out.
