Explanation:

Firstly , Antonio charges no interest over loans which is against Shylock’s practice and this practice make Shylock lose his customers .

Secondly , Antonio spat and insulted Shylock in the market of Venice .

Thirdly , Antonio was a Christian , Christians followed policy of racial discrimination towards Jews . This further added hatred toward Antonio.

Fouthly , Antonio was friend of Lorenzo(also a Christian) , with whom Shylock’s daughter Jessica ran away .

So, these were some reason of Shylock’s hatred towards Antonio.

Explanation:

Shylock hates Antonio because he is a Christian. (Act I , scene iii : “I hate him for he is a Christian.”)

He hates him because he lends money without interest while Shylock charges with really high rates of interest. This results Shylock to lose money in the long

Antonio hates Shylock’s religion and abuses him as well as his religion in front of all merchants.
