To find:

Any two factor on which the increase in the volume of a metallic block will depends on heating.

Solution:

Let considered a block of volume V_(0) being heated such that the change in temperature of the block is \Delta\theta

Now, let change in volume of the metallic block be \Delta V

 \boxed{ \therefore \: \Delta V =  V_{0} \gamma \Delta \theta}

  • Here \gamma is the coefficient of volume expansion.

So, final volume becomes:

\therefore V = V_{0}+\Delta V

\boxed{=> V = V_{0}\bigg(1+\gamma\Delta\theta\bigg)}

So, required factors upon which the change in volume depends are:

  • Initial volume of block

  • Volume expansion coefficient.

  • Temperature change of block.
