State any two reasons for plant cells to have large vacuoles.

Plants have a large central vacuole to serve the following purposes:

1) Vacuoles are important to create a turgor pressure inside this the plant cells. This helps in keeping the cells rigid and holding the plant upright.

2) It is the storehouse of the plant cell. Vacuoles are used for both the storage of nutrients as well as waste material.
