Two types of environmental degradation that are caused by humans are:

1. Deforestation

Deforestation is the condition where the plants and trees are removed and destroyed permanently in large numbers. This includes removing of tress and clearing the land for livestock and farming, or to use the wood for timber and fuel. Deforestation causes many harmful effects in the environment. Some of which includes change in the climate, causes erosion of the soil, desertification, floods, increase in amount of the greenhouse gases, etc.

2. Water degradation

This degradation is caused when the harmful chemicals and waste substances from the industries and factories are released into the water bodies. The waste from industries are mostly untreated and are released into rivers and lakes which harms the aquatic animals to a great extent. And also the water becomes unsuitable for us to use.
