The first way is to locate the dipper in the sky and then find the north star by this way u will get to know the north direction.
The second way is to focus on any one star in the sky and look at its movement . It may take 5 minutes to half an hour for u to recognize it's movement. After u recognize it's movement then -:
1) If the star moves up u are facing east.
2) If the star moves down u are facing west.
3) If the star moves right u are facing south.
4) If the star moves left u are facing north.
5) In some cases the star might appear to be moving in two directions. For example it might move up and to the right which means u are facing southeast.
Hope it helps u :-)
