If the weight of the water displaced is less than the weight of the object, the object will sink

Otherwise the object will float, with the weight of the water displaced equal to the weight of the object.

The states of matter that can flow due to less intermolecular force of attraction, are liquids and gases and are called as fluids

Archimedes principle- when an object is fully (or partially) immersed in a liquid ,it experience a buoyant force which is equal to the weight of liquid displaced by it.

and fluids are those which can flow easily, like air,water.
