ARCHIMEDES PRINCIPLE
It states that :
when a body is immersed fully or partially in a fluid ,it experience an upward force that is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by it.
example:. a ship floating on water because it displaces an amount of water equals to its own weight but if it will displace less then it will sink .
The principle also used in lactometers ,hydrometers etc
