Archemimedes principle:
when a body is immersed completely or partially in a fluid, it experiences an upward force that is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by it.
The upward force here is the buoyant force.
For example,
A beaker is filled with 30ml of water. And a stone of 6g is completely immersed in it, the amount of water displace would be equal to the weight of the stone.
so the water would displace from a reading of 30ml to 36ml.
