Coulomb's law states that: The magnitude of the electrostatic force of attraction or repulsion between two point charges is directly proportional to the product of the magnitudes of charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. In the year 1785a scientists Charles auyustin de coulomb propounded a law on the basis of his experiment according to which ,the force of attraction or the force of repulsion acting between the two point charges is proportional to the product of the magnitudes of two charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
