When the industries release oxides of Supper and Nitrogen they gets spread in air and they mix with the water molecules present in the atmosphere and becomes as acids. When they flow to earth they comes as acid rain.

Due the increasing activity of greenhouse gases the earth temperature incresses due to this sea level increases , ice blocks in the polar regions melt. This is known as Global Warming

The difference between acid rain and global warming are as follows :-

Acid Rain

  • Acid rain is a rain or any other form of precipitation that is unusually acidic because of the high concentration of toxic gases in the atmosphere.
  • It is caused by the disposal of harmful gases such as sulphuric acid by industries in the atmosphere.
  • It causes environmental pollution and makes water acidic and unfit for habitation.
  • For eg:- Taj Mahal has lost it's beauty because of the acid rain. Acids like sulphuric acid reacts with marble and leaves a precipitate. Now Taj mahal looks yellowish.

Global warming

  • Global warming is a long-term rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system.
  • It is caused by release of green house gases like CO2 into the air which increases the temperature.
  • It causes environmental disasters.
  • For eg:- It is estimated that due to the increase in temperature the glaciers will melt and the continents will start to submerge.
