Eastern ghats lies in east side of the bay of bengal and Western Ghats on west with arabian sea.

• The western ghats run parallel to the western coasts in the north to the south direction for the river Tapi to Kanyakumari.  

• The eastern ghat runs northeast to the southwest direction that is parallel to the eastern coast of Odisha and varies in 100 to 200 km in length.
