The different types of neurons are sensory neurons, motor neurons and relay neurons. sensory neuron; sensory neuron are the neuron which give the information to spinal when we touch a hot object . motor neuron; motor neuron are the neuron which give information to all the organs to react when we touch the hot object . relay neuron;relay neuron are the one which gives the information to brain to react. Then finally we react.

1. Afferent neurons or Sensory neurons : which carry messages toward the central nervous system (CNS) (spinal cord or brain) from nerve endings on the muscles of different sense organs that sense the change in surroundings are called sensory nerves and ALSO STIMULUS DETECTORS ....
2. Efferent neurons or Motor neurons : which carry messages from the central nervous system to parts that shall carry out the response or the effectors (muscles) ,,,they are also called as motor nerves
3. Association nerves / mixed nerves :   which link together the afferent and efferent nerves
