Doppler Effect :

When any source emitting light like sun , moon or star is approaching or receding away from the observer then the frequency or wave length of light appears to be changing to the observer .

this apparent change in frequency or wavelength of light is called Doppler effect in light.

when ever distance between source and observer is increasing or decreasing then the frequency or wave length of light appears to change to the observer .
