Answer:

This atomic model failed to explain stability of atoms. According to the model, electrons revolve around the positively charged nucleus. It's not possible for a long run as we know atoms are stable while any particle in a circular orbit would undergo acceleration.

Answer:

DRAWBACKS OF RUTHERFORD'S ATOMIC MODEL ;-

1. According to Rutherford's atomic model, electrons are revolving in a circular path.

2. The scientist Clark Maxwell proved thet while one charged particle revolves around the another charged particle, it emits radiation.

3. According to Neils Bohr, electron revolves around the nucleus emitting radiation.

4. Due to continuous emission of radiation, it gradually decreases its energy and finally comes to the nucleus through circular path and falls down into the nucleus. As a result, the atom will get collapsed.
