A  system of irrigation used in the hilly areas of khasi jhayantiya hills of meghalaya here the water from streams and spring are brought down to the lower areas of water scarcity to irrigate beetle leaf plants and pepper con plants.

this system splits the bambo into two longitudinally ans they are tided together to make the wter flow into the pipe though a lot of water enters the bamboo pipes initially finally only a few drops remain a lot of water is lost in transit.

its an age old system of bout 200 yrs and even the present genertion living in the region use the same old traditional method though they have been advised to use PVC pipes instead of bamboo.
