Traditional uses of solar energy are :-

1. Heating :- The energy from the sun was used to heat things both edible and non -edible and remove their foul odour.

2. Cooking :- Since the solar cooker is now a thing of the past, it is thus regarded as a traditional use of solar energy. For proper mixing of spices in pickles, solar energy was used.

3. Drying :- For drying edible food stuffs , solar energy was used. For drying clothes also, solar energy is used.

4. For photosynthesis :- Green plants prepare their food in the presence of sunlight using water and oxygen.
