It states that for a small deformation the "Stress" in a body is directly proportional to the corresponding "Strain" .
Mathematically ;
Stress = K × strain
where "K" is a constant called "Modulus of elasticity " .
____________
hope it helps!

Hookes law: with in elastic limit , the stress on a body is directly proportional to the strain produced in it.
i.e., strain is directly proportional to its strain
stress =E×strain
E=stress/strain
where E=modulus of elasticity.
