The points which support the above-given statement are:

1) the evil of untouchability still prevails in the society and most of the upper caste people still maintain a gap with the lower caste people and doesn't treat them as equal.

2) the thing about marrying someone in the lower caste creates hype among the upper caste people and is not at all tolerable. This is another example of how lower caste people are still thought of as different and low from the upper caste.
