Due to the process of nitrogen fixation the nitrates in the soil gets converted to atmospheric nitrogen. In soil plant need minerals and vital nutrients for their growth and among plants rice plant play an important role in the process a pouch like structure is present in the plant which stores nitrate and converts it into nitrogen gas of the atmosphere during lightning. The puch like structure is called nodule.
